Mondo gecko

Are geckos really a pest?

My building manager was regaling me with tales of how he kills them at every opportunity and how they are introduced from Indonesia and they have no natural competition and just poo everywhere and make a squeaking sound. I don't think those are good enough reasons.

How can anything that supercute be bad?

I'm with you on this one, Adam. Kick that bastard in the nuts! Save the geckos.

And Wikipedia claims that geckos in households "are seldom really discouraged because they feed on insect pests." Eat that, building manager!

Verdict: Cute

Just as long as they don't jump on me when i'm in the shower washing my hair with my eyes closed.

nothing worse.

we don't get so many down here...

i figure cane toads are much worse, so he should be really killing them instead of ye old gecko - since it sounds like he just needs to unleash violence (doesn't he have a wife he can unleash on???)

rach - can i jump on you in the shower when your eyes are closed??
i'm not a reptile, so that has to be a bonus surely

hey adam, can you take photos of me? i want to send them to prospective girlfriends

Meghan, I think America has very different lizard thingies to Australia. We just have ones that run around and sun themselves on rocks.

Rach, I think that only happens in Central America. Remember: anything that jumps on you while your washing your hair with your eyes closed is not your friend.

Keeks, of course dude. It'll give me a chance to use my extra massive handbars lens.

Kris, I don't know what to say, that made me laugh so much.

Miss Natalie, what about their little sticky toes? Are they not slightly cuter and more manly than Mr Douglas in the 80s?

I don't mind small geckos, but the big ones are a bit scary.

Especially when they are kind of see through and you can se eit's guts and stuff.

I say save them!

To see a gecko here you would have to go to a pet store, shell out a some bucks (up to $100 if it is a leopard gecko) and take it home.

I know some people who are more of a pest than those geckos are. :p

I don't know why, but any type of lizardy creature makes my skin crawl and 'ech' noises to come out of my mouth and girly dance steps come from my legs.

But I am very definately totally against them being killed.
